This function can prevent the inrush current in power on process. VCC Regulator The VCC is the output terminal of the internal regulator. A ceramic capacitor in this pin for voltage regulation is required. The capacitance range is from 0.1µF to 1µF. Enable Function An enable function was applied in GR6004. A logic high cause the GR6004 active and the logic low disable the operation. The soft start period starts when the enable signal restarts the operation of GR6004. Locate a 100K resistor between EN and VIN to force the GR6004 operating with the VIN greater than 9V. If the VIN is between 4.5V to 9V, connect the EN to VIN directly. Input Capacitor Selection The input capacitor must have a rated voltage greater than the maximum input voltage. The rated ripple current in RMS of the input capacitor also must be greater than the RMS value of input current. The (1) could use to find the RMS value of input current. Inductor Selection The value of the inductor in the power stage could find by the inductor current ripple. A reasonable range of the inductor current ripple is range from 20% to 40% of the output LED driving current. The (2) could find by observing Figure-1 to calculate the inductance. Figure-1 The Sketch map explains the inductor current ripple, inductor voltage, LED current setting and PWM dimming. Output Capacitor Selection The output capacitor could easy find by (3). Freewheel Diode Selection Two specifications of freewheel diode must be considered, the maximum reverse voltage must be greater than the maximum voltage across the freewheel diode.
