204 / 219 page  C-1 Am79C970A Alternative Method for Initialization APPENDIX C The PCnet-PCI II controller may be initialized by per- forming I/O writes only. That is, data can be written di- rectly to the appropriate control and status registers (CSR instead of reading from the initialization Block in memory). The registers that must be written are shown in the table below. These register writes are followed by writing the START bit in CSR0.
