Internal 32kHz Oscillator – LIRC TheInternal32kHzSystemOscillatorisoneofthelowfrequencyoscillators.Itisafullyintegrated RCoscillatorwithatypicalfrequencyof32kHzat5V,requiringnoexternalcomponentsforits implementation. External 32.768kHz Crystal Oscillator – LXT TheExternal32.768kHzCrystalSystemOscillatorisoneofthelowfrequencyoscillatorchoices, whichisselectedviaconfigurationoption.The32.768kHzCrystalOscillatoralsoincludesan internalresistorandcapacitor,whichisalsoselectedviaconfigurationoption.Selectingthisoption mayeliminatetheneedforexternalcomponentsC1,C2andRP.Inthiscaseitisonlyrequiredto connecta32.768kHzcrystaltopinsXT1andXT2. Whentheconfigurationselectstheexternalresistorandcapacitor,aftera32.768kHzcrystal isconnectedbetweenpinsXT1andXT2,theexternalresistorandcapacitorcomponentsmay benecessarytoprovideoscillation.Forapplicationswhereprecisefrequenciesareessential, thesecomponentsmayberequiredtoprovidefrequencycompensationduetodifferentcrystal manufacturingtolerances.Duringpower-upthereisatimedelayassociatedwiththeLXToscillator waitingforittostart-up. WhenthemicrocontrollerenterstheSLEEPorIDLEMode,thesystemclockisswitchedofftostop microcontrolleractivityandtoconservepower.However,inmanymicrocontrollerapplications itmaybenecessarytokeeptheinternaltimersoperationalevenwhenthemicrocontrollerisin theSLEEPorIDLEMode.Todothis,anotherclock,independentofthesystemclock,mustbe provided. |
