53 / 198 page  Rev. 1.20 52 De�e��e� 1�� 201� Rev. 1.20 5� De�e��e� 1�� 201� HT66F317/HT66F318 Enhanced A/D MCU with LCD Driver HT66F317/HT66F318 Enhanced A/D MCU with LCD Driver Standby Current Considerations AsthemainreasonforenteringtheSLEEPorIDLEModeistokeepthecurrentconsumptionof thedevicestoaslowavalueaspossible,perhapsonlyintheorderofseveralmicro-ampsexcept intheIDLE1Mode,thereareotherconsiderationswhichmustalsobetakenintoaccountbythe circuitdesignerifthepowerconsumptionistobeminimised.Specialattentionmustbemadetothe I/Opinsonthedevices.Allhigh-impedanceinputpinsmustbeconnectedtoeitherafixedhighor lowlevelasanyfloatinginputpinscouldcreateinternaloscillationsandresultinincreasedcurrent consumption.Thisalsoappliestothedeviceswhichhasdifferentpackagetypes,astheremaybe unbonbedpins.Thesemusteitherbesetupasoutputsorifsetupasinputsmusthavepull-high resistorsconnected. Caremustalsobetakenwiththeloads,whichareconnectedtoI/Opins,whicharesetupasoutputs. Theseshouldbeplacedinaconditioninwhichminimumcurrentisdrawnorconnectedonlyto externalcircuitsthatdonotdrawcurrent,suchasotherCMOSinputs.Alsonotethatadditional standbycurrentwillalsoberequirediftheconfigurationoptionshaveenabledtheLXTorLIRC oscillator. IntheIDLE1Modethesystemoscillatorison,ifthesystemoscillatorisfromthehighspeedsystem oscillator,theadditionalstandbycurrentwillalsobeperhapsintheorderofseveralhundredmicro- amps. Wake-up AfterthesystementerstheSLEEPorIDLEMode,itcanbewokenupfromoneofvarioussources listedasfollows: • AnexternalfallingedgeonPortA • Asysteminterrupt • AWDToverflow IfthedeviceiswokenupbyaWDToverflow,aWatchdogTimerresetwillbeinitiated.Theactual sourceofthewake-upcanbedeterminedbyexaminingtheTOandPDFflags.ThePDFflagis clearedbyasystempower-uporexecutingtheclearWatchdogTimerinstructionsandissetwhen executingthe“HALT”instruction.TheTOflagissetifaWDTtime-outoccurs,andcausesawake- upthatonlyresetstheProgramCounterandStackPointer,theotherflagsremainintheiroriginal status. EachpinonPortAcanbesetupusingthePAWUregistertopermitanegativetransitiononthepin towake-upthesystem.WhenaPortApinwake-upoccurs,theprogramwillresumeexecutionat theinstructionfollowingthe“HALT”instruction.Ifthesystemiswokenupbyaninterrupt,then twopossiblesituationsmayoccur.Thefirstiswheretherelatedinterruptisdisabledortheinterrupt isenabledbutthestackisfull,inwhichcasetheprogramwillresumeexecutionattheinstruction followingthe“HALT”instruction.Inthissituation,theinterruptwhichwoke-upthedevicewillnot beimmediatelyserviced,butwillratherbeservicedlaterwhentherelatedinterruptisfinallyenabled orwhenastacklevelbecomesfree.Theothersituationiswheretherelatedinterruptisenabledand thestackisnotfull,inwhichcasetheregularinterruptresponsetakesplace.Ifaninterruptrequest flagissethighbeforeenteringtheSLEEPorIDLEMode,thewake-upfunctionoftherelated interruptwillbedisabled. |
