Functional Description
The device includes an LDO, a Level shifters
andavoltagedetectioncircuit.Thefollowingisa
descriptionoftheiroperation.
LDO
Thesystemissuppliedbyahighersystemvoltage–
approximately6Vto24V–oninputpinVCC1.An
internalLDOreducesthishighervoltagetoa5Vlevel
whichissuppliedonoutputpinVDD.Thislower
voltagelevelisusedbytheinternallogiccircuitsbut
asitcansupplyupto150mAitcanalsobeusedby
externalcircuitry.
Level Shifter
TheinternallevelshifterinputispinAwithinput
logiclevelsreferencedbyVDD.Thelevelshifter
outputispinAX,whoselevelsarereferencedbythe
highervoltagelevelVCC2.Internalcircuitsensure
areliabletransferofvoltagelevelsfromtheVDD
referenceleveltotheVCC2referencelevelwhichcan
thenbeusedforIGBTdrivingpurposes.Bothlevel
shifterpins,AandAX,areconnectedviapull-low
resistorstoground.

ForvoltagedetectionVDET,RDY=0meansVCC2or
VDDisbelowthenormaloperationlevel,andAXwill
beforcedtoafloatingstate.
NotethatthesystempowerVCC1mustbepowered
onearlierthatVCC2,orVCC1andVCC2arepoweredon
simultaneously,inordertoavoidcircuitmalfunctions.

Aninternalvoltagedetectormonitorstheintegrityof
theVDDandVCC2voltagelevels.Ifthevoltagelevels
arenormal,thenthelevelshifterwillbeenabled
tooperatenormally.AbnormalVDDorVCC2voltage
levelswillresultinthelevelshifterbeingdisabled
topreventsystemmalfunctionsandpossiblecircuit
damage.
