7 / 117 page  Rev. 1.00 � ���� 0�� �01� Rev. 1.00 � ���� 0�� �01� HT45F5Q-2 Charger Flash MCU HT45F5Q-2 Charger Flash MCU General Description ForAC/DCchargerapplications,theChargerASSPFlashMCUHT45F5Q-2includesabattery chargermanagementmodule,whichcanbeusedfortheconstantvoltageandconstantcurrentclosed loopchargingcontrol.ThedevicethereforereducestheneedfortheusuallyrequiredexternalTL431 component,operationalamplifierandresistanceanalogicD/AConverterintraditionalbattery chargingcircuits.Thereforetheperipheralcircuitismorereduced,resultinginasmallerPCBarea. Thechargermanagementmoduleiscomposedoftwoparts.Thefirstpartcontainstwogroupsof OPAsandD/AConverters,whichareusedtocontrolthechargingvoltageandcurrent.Theupper limitvalueofthechargerconstantvoltageandconstantcurrentcanbeobtainedbyconfiguring theD/AConvertersinthesoftware.The12-bitD/AConverterisusedforconstantvoltagecontrol whilethe8-bitD/AConverterisusedforconstantcurrentcontrol.Thesecondpartofthecharger managementcontainsafixedgainoperationalamplifierwhichisusedforcurrentamplification. Thisimprovesthecurrentresolutionandallowstheuseofsmallercurrentdetectionresistorsthus reducingtheresistorpowerconsumption. TheD/AConverterinthechargermanagementmoduleisnotonlyusedforsettingchargingvoltage andcurrent,butalsocanbeusedtogetherwiththespecificchargerproductionfixturesforimproving thetraditionalmanualcalibrationtechniques.Byusingtheexternalproductionfixtures,thecharger currentvoltage/currentconditionscanbeconfirmed.Ifthemarginoferrorsisexceeded,theMCU willcorrecttheerrorbyfinetuningtheD/AConverter,andstorethecorrectedparametersto EEPROM.Whenthechargerisrecharged,theD/AConverterwillbegivenanewcorrectionvalue toimplementcorrectionpurpose.RefertotheHoltekapplicationnotesformoredetails.
