3 / 4 page ![]() 3M™ Trizact™ 8000 30803, 30804, 30805, 30806 Page 3 of 4 6. Scratch Refinement Trizact™ 8000 – Reduces or Eliminates the need for Compounding Using a spray bottle, apply enough water to dampen the 3M™ Trizact™ 8000 before sanding the panel. Damp sand the area to refine the Trizact™ 3000 scratches left from the previous step. This will take about 4-6 passes to ensure you get all the previous scratches out. Trizact™ abrasives work best with high throw/stroke D/A sanders. Recommendation is to use an orbit of 3/16” (5mm) or more to get the optimum performance out of Trizact™ abrasives. You will know the disc is cutting when the surface appears foamy. When necessary re-dampen the disc with water from a spray bottle to retain the foamy appearance. Note: The 3M™ Trizact™ discs can be used with or without an interface pad. Preferred usage is with the interface pad because it is more effective on curves, contours, edges, and minimizes a technician’s chance of burning through the paint. 7. Wipe off area with a clean cloth while surface is still damp to limit the amount of dust that gets into the air. Do not move onto the next step before wiping off the Trizact™ 8000 swarf/dust. 8. Buff to remove sand scratches completely. 3M Applications External use on automotive, industrial, light industrial, and marine finishes. Storage and Handling HANDLING: No special handling precautions. STORAGE: Shelf life of 3M™ Trizact™ 8000 is up to 5 years when stored at 60°-80° F and 35-50% R.H. Avoid high temperature and humidity storage conditions. Precautionary Information Before using this product, please reference Product Label and/or Safety Data Sheet for Health and Safety Information. Note: Laws controlling the acceptable amounts of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) vary by state, and in some cases by locality. For surface preparation and clean-up activities, consult federal, state and local regulations regarding use of products containing VOCs in your area.
