Luma Processing The high-frequency range of Y/C separated data has a relatively smaller magnitude than the low-frequency range. The high-frequency range makes the image more distinct and remarkable, but may induce worse coding efficiencies when video signal is compressed. Figure 2.4. shows Peaking Filter Characteristic. NVP6124 provides the peaking filter and Gain control for emphasizing or depressing the high-frequency area to avoid this problem. The Peaking filter is applied to this purpose and its characteristics can be controlled by register (Y_PEAK_MODE, 0x18[7:4] / 0x19[7:4] / 0x1A[7:4] / 0x1B[7:4], Bank0) via I2C interface. Figure 2.4.
