Internal RC Oscillator – HIRC

TheinternalRCoscillatorisafullyintegratedsystemoscillatorrequiringnoexternalcomponents.

TheinternalRCoscillatorhasthefrequencyof8MHz.Devicetrimmingduringthemanufacturing

processandtheinclusionofinternalfrequencycompensationcircuitisusedtoensurethatthe

influenceofthepowersupplyvoltage,temperatureandprocessvariationsontheoscillation

frequencyareminimized.Notethatthisinternalsystemclockoptionrequiresnoexternalpinsforits

Internal 12kHZ Oscillator – LIRC

TheLIRCisafullyself-containedfreerunningon-chipRCoscillatorwithatypicalfrequencyof

12kHzat5V,requiringnoexternalcomponentsforitsimplementation.Whenthedeviceentersthe

SleepMode,thesystemclockwillstoprunningbuttheLIRCoscillatorcontinuestofree-runand

tokeepthewatchdogactive.However,topreservepowerincertainapplicationstheLIRCcanbe

disabledbydisablingtheWDTfunction,PWMfunction,Timer/EventcounterandTimeBaseinthe

haltmode.
