The analog input range is tailored to directly accommodate a voltage drop across a shunt resistor used for

current sensing. There are two restrictions on the analog input signals (INP and INN).

• First, if the input voltage exceeds the input range specified in the Absolute Maximum Ratings table, limit the

input current to the absolute maximum value. This is to prevent device input electrostatic discharge (ESD)

diode damage due to high current.

• Second, keep the differential analog input voltage within the specified full-scale range ( VFSR ) and input

common-mode voltage range (VCM) ranges. VFSR and VCMare specified in the Recommended Operating

Conditions table. The device noise and linearilty performance is guaranteed only in this range.
