Ethernet Controller

The MAC controller implements the IEEE 802.3 and operates either at 100 Mbps or 10

Mbps. Figure 10 shows a global view of the Ethernet Controller module with the module

specific interface connections.

The Ethernet controller comprises the following functional blocks:

1. Media Access Controller (MAC)

2. Receive Buffer (RB)

3. Transmit Buffer (TB)

4. Data Management Unit in Receive Direction (DMUR)

5. Data Management Unit in Transmit Direction (DMUT)
