External Interrupt

TheexternalinterruptsarecontrolledbysignaltransitionsonthepinsINT0~INT1.Anexternal

interruptrequestwilltakeplacewhentheexternalinterruptrequestflags,INT0F~INT1F,areset,

whichwilloccurwhenatransition,whosetypeischosenbytheedgeselectbits,appearsonthe

externalinterruptpins.Toallowtheprogramtobranchtoitsrespectiveinterruptvectoraddress,the

globalinterruptenablebit,EMI,andrespectiveexternalinterruptenablebit,INT0E~INT1E,must

firstbeset.AdditionallythecorrectinterruptedgetypemustbeselectedusingtheINTEGregisterto

enabletheexternalinterruptfunctionandtochoosethetriggeredgetype.Astheexternalinterrupt

pinsarepin-sharedwithI/Opins,theycanonlybeconfiguredasexternalinterruptpinsiftheir

externalinterruptenablebitinthecorrespondinginterruptregisterhasbeenset.Thepinmustalso

besetupasaninputbysettingthecorrespondingbitintheportcontrolregister.Whentheinterrupt

isenabled,thestackisnotfullandthecorrecttransitiontypeappearsontheexternalinterruptpin,

asubroutinecalltotheexternalinterruptvector,willtakeplace.Whentheinterruptisserviced,the

externalinterruptrequestflags,INT0F~INT1F,willbeautomaticallyresetandtheEMIbitwillbe

automaticallyclearedtodisableotherinterrupts.Notethatanypull-highresistorselectionsonthe

externalinterruptpinswillremainvalidevenifthepinisusedasanexternalinterruptinput.The

INTEGregisterisusedtoselectthetypeofactiveedgethatwilltriggertheexternalinterrupt.A

choiceofeitherrisingorfallingorbothedgetypescanbechosentotriggeranexternalinterrupt.

NotethattheINTEGregistercanalsobeusedtodisabletheexternalinterruptfunction.

A/D Converter Interrupt

TheA/DConverterInterruptiscontrolledbytheterminationofanA/Dconversionprocess.AnA/D

ConverterInterruptrequestwilltakeplacewhentheA/DConverterInterruptrequestflag,ADF,is

set,whichoccurswhentheA/Dconversionprocessfinishes.Toallowtheprogramtobranchtoits

respectiveinterruptvectoraddress,theglobalinterruptenablebit,EMI,andA/DInterruptenablebit,

ADE,mustfirstbeset.Whentheinterruptisenabled,thestackisnotfullandtheA/Dconversion

processhasended,asubroutinecalltotheA/DConverterInterruptvector,willtakeplace.Whenthe

interruptisserviced,theA/DConverterInterruptflag,ADF,willbeautomaticallycleared.TheEMI

bitwillalsobeautomaticallyclearedtodisableotherinterrupts.

Multi-function Interrupt

WithinthisdevicethereareuptofourMulti-functioninterrupts.Unliketheotherindependent

interrupts,theseinterruptshavenoindependentsource,butratherareformedfromotherexisting

interruptsources,namelytheTMInterrupts,LVDinterrupt,UARTinterrupt,SIMInterrupt,I2Ctime

outInterruptandEEPROMInterrupt.

AMulti-functioninterruptrequestwilltakeplacewhenanyoftheMulti-functioninterruptrequest

flags,MFnFareset.TheMulti-functioninterruptflagswillbesetwhenanyoftheirincluded

functionsgenerateaninterruptrequestflag.Toallowtheprogramtobranchtoitsrespectiveinterrupt

vectoraddress,whentheMulti-functioninterruptisenabledandthestackisnotfull,andeitherone

oftheinterruptscontainedwithineachofMulti-functioninterruptoccurs,asubroutinecalltooneof

theMulti-functioninterruptvectorswilltakeplace.Whentheinterruptisserviced,therelatedMulti-

FunctionrequestflagwillbeautomaticallyresetandtheEMIbitwillbeautomaticallyclearedto

disableotherinterrupts.

However,itmustbenotedthat,althoughtheMulti-functionInterruptflagswillbeautomatically

resetwhentheinterruptisserviced,therequestflagsfromtheoriginalsourceoftheMulti-function

interrupts,namelytheTMInterrupts,LVDinterrupt,UARTinterrupt,SIMInterrupt,I2Ctimeout

InterruptandEEPROMInterruptwillnotbeautomaticallyresetandmustbemanuallyresetbythe

applicationprogram.
