147 / 167 page  Rev. 1.50 14� De�e��e� 01� �01� Rev. 1.50 147 De�e��e� 01� �01� HT45F3W R-Type Blood Pressure Meter Flash MCU HT45F3W R-Type Blood Pressure Meter Flash MCU TherequirementtolimittheDCvoltagetozeroandtocontrolasmanypixelsaspossiblewith aminimumnumberofconnections,requiresthatbothatimeandamplitudesignalisgenerated andappliedtotheapplicationLCD.Thesetimeandamplitudevaryingsignalsareautomatically generatedbytheLCDdrivercircuitsinthemicrocontroller.Whatisknownasthedutydetermines thenumberofcommonlinesusedwhicharealsoknownasbackplanesorCOMs.Theduty,which ischosenbytwocontrolbitsDTYC1andDTYC0tohaveavalueof1/4,1/6and1/8,andwhich equatestoaCOMnumberof4,6and8,thereforedefinesthenumberoftimedivisionswithineach LCDsignalframe.Twotypesofsignalgenerationarealsoprovided,knownasTypeAandType B,therequiredtypeisselectedviatheTYPEbitintheLCDCTRLregister.TypeBofferslower frequencysignals,howeverlowerfrequenciesmayintroduceflickeringandinfluencedisplayclarity. LCD Voltage Source and Biasing ThetimeandamplitudevaryingsignalsgeneratedbytheLCDDriverfunctionrequirethegeneration ofseveralvoltagelevelsfortheiroperation.ThedeviceonlyhasRtypebiasing.ForRtypebiasing aninternalLCDvoltagesource,VLCDissuppliedtogeneratetheinternalbiasingvoltages.The VLCDvoltagecanbeselectedtohavearangebetween3Vand4.5V,instepsof0.1V,usingthe VLCD0~VLCD3bitsintheVLCDCregister.Forthe1/3biasselection,fourvoltagelevelsVSS,VA, VBandVCareutilised.ThevoltageVAisequaltoVLCD,VBisequaltoVLCDx2/3whileVCisequal toVLCDx1/3.Forthe1/4biasselection,fourvoltagelevelsVSS,VA,VB,VCandVDareutilised.The voltageVAisequaltoVLCD,VBisequaltoVLCDx3/4,VCisequaltoVLCDx1/2,whileVDisequal toVLCDx1/4.Inadditiontoselecting1/3or1/4bias,severalvaluesofbiasresistorcanbechosen usingbitsintheLCDCTRLregister.Differentvaluesofinternalbiasresistorscanbeselectedusing theRSEL0andRESEL1bitsintheLCDCTRLregister. ThisalongwiththevalueofVLCDwilldeterminethebiascurrent.
