Entering the IDLE0 Mode
ThereisonlyonewayforthedevicetoentertheIDLE0Modeandthatistoexecutethe“HALT”
instructionintheapplicationprogramwiththeFHIDENbitintheSCCregisterequalto“0”andthe
FSIDENbitintheSCCregisterequalto“1”.Whenthisinstructionisexecutedundertheconditions
describedabove,thefollowingwilloccur:
• ThefHclockwillbestoppedandtheapplicationprogramwillstopatthe“HALT”instruction,but
thefSUBclockwillbeon.
• TheDataMemorycontentsandregisterswillmaintaintheirpresentcondition.
• TheI/Oportswillmaintaintheirpresentconditions.
• Inthestatusregister,thePowerDownflagPDFwillbeset,andWDTtimeoutflagTOwillbe
cleared.
• TheWDTwillbeclearedandresumecountingastheWDTisenabled.IftheWDTisdisabled
thenWDTwillbeclearedandstopped.

ThereisonlyonewayforthedevicetoentertheIDLE1Modeandthatistoexecutethe“HALT”
instructionintheapplicationprogramwiththeFHIDENbitinSCCregisterequalto“1”andthe
FSIDENbitintheSCCregisterequalto“1”.Whenthisinstructionisexecutedundertheconditions
describedabove,thefollowingwilloccur:
• ThefHandfSUBclockswillbeonbuttheapplicationprogramwillstopatthe“HALT”instruction.
• TheDataMemorycontentsandregisterswillmaintaintheirpresentcondition.
• TheI/Oportswillmaintaintheirpresentconditions.
• Inthestatusregister,thePowerDownflagPDFwillbeset,andWDTtimeoutflagTOwillbe
cleared.
• TheWDTwillbeclearedandresumecountingastheWDTisenabled.IftheWDTisdisabled
thenWDTwillbeclearedandstopped.
