This instruction selects whether the display and cursor are on or off and selects whether or not the character at the cur-

rentcursorpositionblinks.The DDRAM, CGRAM,andcursorpositionarenotaffectedbythisinstruction.

· D=0:Thedisplayisoff(displayblank).

· D=1:Thedisplayison(contentsofthe DDRAM isdisplayed).

· C=0:Thecursorisoff.

· C=1:Thecursorison(8throwsofpixels).

· B=0:Theblinkingcharacterfunctionisdisabled.

· B=1:Theblinkingcharacterfunctionisenabled

Note:

A character with all pixels on will alternate with the character displayed at the current cursor position at a 1Hz

ratewitha50%dutycycle.
