Forlargevolumeapplications,whichincorporateanLCDintheirdesign,theuseofacustom

displayratherthanamoreexpensivecharacterbaseddisplayreducescostssignificantly.However,

thecorrespondingCOMandSEGsignalsrequired,whichvaryinbothamplitudeandtime,todrive

suchacustomdisplayrequiremanyspecialconsiderationsforproperLCDoperationtooccur.The

devicecontainsanLCDDriverfunction,whichwiththeirinternalLCDsignalgeneratingcircuitry

andvariousoptions,willautomaticallygeneratethesetimeandamplitudevaryingsignalstoprovide

ameansofdirectdrivingandeasyinterfacingtoarangeofcustomLCDs.

ThisdeviceincludesawiderangeofoptionstoenableLCDdisplaysofvarioustypestobedriven.
