TheavailabilityofEEPROMstorageallowsinformationsuchasproductidentificationnumbers, calibrationvalues,specificuserdata,systemsetupdataorotherproductinformationtobestored directlywithintheproductmicrocontroller.TheprocessofreadingandwritingdatatotheEEPROM memoryhasbeenreducedtoaverytrivialaffair. EEPROM Data Memory Structure TheEEPROMDataMemorycapacityvariesfrom32×8to64×8bits,accordingtothedevice selected.UnliketheProgramMemoryandRAMDataMemory,theEEPROMDataMemoryis notdirectlymappedandisthereforenotdirectlyaccessibleinthesamewayastheothertypesof memory.ReadandWriteoperationstotheEEPROMarecarriedoutinsinglebyteoperationsusing twoaddressregistersandonedataregisterinBank0andasinglecontrolregisterinBank1. Device Capacity Address HT45F�5�0 ��×8 00H~1FH HT45F�5�0 �4×8 00H~�FH EEPROM Registers ThreeregisterscontroltheoveralloperationoftheinternalEEPROMDataMemory.Thesearethe addressregisters,EEA,thedataregister,EEDandasinglecontrolregister,EEC.AsboththeEEA andEEDregistersarelocatedinBank0andBank1,theycanbedirectlyaccessedinthesameway asanyotherSpecialFunctionRegister.TheEECregisterhowever,beinglocatedinBank1only, cannotbedirectlyaddresseddirectlyandcanonlybereadfromorwrittentoindirectlyusingthe MP1MemoryPointerandIndirectAddressingRegister,IAR1.BecausetheEECcontrolregisteris locatedataddress40HinBank1,theMP1MemoryPointermustfirstbesettothevalue40Hand theBankPointerregister,BP,settothevalue,01H,beforeanyoperationsontheEECregisterare executed.
