The three Storwize V5000E expansion enclosure models are 12F, 24F, and 92F. The

12F LFF enclosure models support up to twelve 3.5-inch drives, while the 24F SFF

enclosure models support up to twenty-four 2.5-inch drives. High-performance

disk drives, high-capacity nearline disk drives, and flash (solid state) drives are

supported. Drives of the same form factor can be intermixed within an enclosure,

and LFF and SFF expansion enclosures can be intermixed within a Storwize V5000E

system.

All Storwize V5000E functional capabilities are provided through IBM Spectrum

Virtualize Licensed Machine Code. For additional information about Storwize V5000E

Key requirements

Storwize V5000E requires Spectrum Virtualize licensed machine code level 8.2.1, or

later.

Planned availability date

• April 26, 2019: All models and features, except as noted below

• June 7, 2019: 14TB NL-SAS drive Features AL3E and AL4B

• July 19, 2019: TAA Designated Country features ADZ1

• June 21, 2019: All Models and features in Russia

The Encryption Enablement feature and the Encryption USB Drive feature (feature

numbersALE1 and ALEC) are not available in the following countries:

• Armenia

• Belarus

• Kazakhstan

• Kyrgyzstan

• Russia

Availability of programs with an encryption algorithm in France is subject to French

government approval.
