Expansion enclosure attachment cables

Expansion enclosure attachment cables are required to connect a Storwize V5000E

expansion enclosure to the control enclosure and to another expansion enclosure.

This requires a 12 Gb mini-SAS HD 4x cable terminated with SFF-8644 (HD)

connectors.

The following SAS cables can be ordered with Storwize V5000E expansion enclosure

models:

• 0.6-meter 12 Gb SAS cable (mSAS HD)

• 1.5-meter 12 Gb SAS cable (mSAS HD)

• 3-meter 12 Gb SAS cable (mSAS HD)

• 6-meter 12 Gb SAS cable (mSAS HD)

System management cables

Storwize V5030E requires:

• A 10GBASE-T Category 6A shielded cable terminated with an 8P8C modular

connector (RJ45 compatible connector) when system management is performed

over a 10 Gb link speed.

• A Category 5 or Category 5E Ethernet cable terminated with an 8P8C modular

connector (RJ45 compatible connector) when system management is performed

over a 1 Gb link speed.

Storwize V5010E require a Category 5 or Category 5E Ethernet cable terminated

with an 8P8C modular connector (RJ45 compatible connector).

These cables are not available for ordering with the machine and must be supplied

by the customer.

Security, auditability, and control

This product uses the security and auditability features of the preloaded application

software.

The client is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security

features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems

and communications facilities.
