8.4.3.1. Conversion rate

The DIO1408 is configured for conversion rates of 0.25 Hz, 1 Hz, 4 Hz, or 16 Hz with the conversion rate bits,

CR1 and CR0. The rate is set at 1 Hz by default. The typical conversion time for the DIO1408 is 21 ms.

To achieve different conversion rates, the DIO1408 makes a conversion, then powers down, and waits for the

delay that CR1 and CR0 have set.

The DIO1408 begins a conversion when it is powered on or after a general-call reset (see Figure 10). The first

result is available in 21 ms typically.

8.4.3.2. Temperature watchdog flags (FL and FH)

Temperature watchdog flags (FL and FH) are used to indicate the result of comparing the measured temperature

to the temperature limit (THIGH and TLOW). FH is set to 1 if the temperature is higher than THIGH. FL is set to 1 if the

temperature is lower than TLOW. Both flag bits remain at 0 if the temperature is within the range set by the limit

registers. In interrupt mode, if

ALERT pin and flag pins are activated, reading the configuration register clears

the pin and the flags. Please be noted that the SMBus alert response only clears the pin, not the flags.

8.4.3.3. Hysteresis control (HYS1 and HYS0)

In comparator mode, the hysteresis control bits (HYS1 and HYS0) set the hysteresis for the DIO1408's limit

comparison to 0°C, 1°C (default), 2°C, or 4°C.

8.4.3.4. Polarity (POL)

The POL bit can be used to program the polarity of the
