FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Figure 8 shows the block diagram of the AS1860. The
individual blocks are described in greater detail in the
following paragraphs.
(Please also refer to these separate Akros documents for the
AS1860: AN080 for a detailed Design Guide and AN082 for a
detailed Software Users Guide.)
ISOLATION
As shown in Figure 8, the AS1860 is divided internally into
Primary and Secondary sides. All signals that interconnect
the Primary and Secondary sides are isolated using Akros
GreenEdge
™ technology eliminating the need for opto-
isolators in both analog power control loop and the digital I²C
paths between Primary and Secondary ground planes
.
