355 / 701 page  355 CHAPTER 17 DSU (DEADMAN’S SWITCH UNIT) This chapter describes the DSU (Deadman’s Switch Unit)’s operations and register settings. 17.1 GENERAL The DSU detects when the VR4102 is in runaway (endless loop) state and resets the VR4102 to minimize runaway time. The use of the DSU to minimize runaway time effectively minimizes data loss that can occur due to software-related runaway states. 17.2 REGISTER SET The DSU registers are listed below. Table 17-1.
