8 Application and Implementation
Note
Information in the following applications sections is not part of the TI component specification,
and TI does not warrant its accuracy or completeness. TI’s customers are responsible for
determining suitability of components for their purposes, as well as validating and testing their design
implementation to confirm system functionality.
8.1 Application Information
The TLC6989 is controlled using a standard SPI. The device is connected to a daisy chain of TLC698x devices
which are controlled using a Continuous Clock Serial Interface (CCSI) provided by the TLC6989 device. All the
features of the TLC6989 are accessed by programmable registers.
8.2 Typical Application
Figure 8-1 depicts a typical application with only one TLC6989 connected to a Controller using one SPI bus and
many TLC698x connected in a daisy chain using one CCSI bus.
