448 / 701 page  CHAPTER 22 DSIU (DEBUG SERIAL INTERFACE UNIT) 448 22.3 DESCRIPTION OF OPERATIONS 22.3.1 Data Format Serial data is transmitted and received in full-duplex mode. The format of the transmit and receive data is shown in the following figure. Each frame includes a start bit, character bits, parity bit, and stop bit(s). Specification of the character bit length in one data frame, along with the parity setting, and stop bit length specification are all made via the mode registers (ASIM00REG and ASIM01REG).
