6.18 General-Purpose Input/Output

The GPIO peripheral provides general-purpose pins that can be configured as either inputs or outputs.

When configured as an output, you can write to an internal register to control the state driven on the

output pin. When configured as an input, you can detect the state of the input by reading the state of the

internal register. The GPIO can also be used to send interrupts to the CPU.

The VC5504 GPIO peripheral supports the following:

• Up to 26 GPIOs plus 1 general-purpose output (XF)

• All GPIO pins have internal pulldowns (IPDs) which can be individually disabled

• Output Set/Clear functionality through writing a single output data register

• All GPIOs can be configured to generate edge detected interrupts to the CPU on either the rising or

falling edge

VC5504 GPIO pin functions are multiplexed with various other signals. For more detailed information on
