43 / 79 page  12 SPI functional description 12.1 SPI communication The SPI communication is based on the “ST-SPI Specification”. The device operates in slave mode on a bus configuration through CSN, SDI, SDO and SCK signal lines, with 32 bits SPI frames. A SPI master device (host microcontroller) initiates the communication. The SPI master device must be configured in the following mode: CPOL = 0, CPHA = 0 Input data are shifted into SDI, MSB first while output data are shifted out on SDO, MSB first. Figure 14.
