2.6 Oscillation Circuit

2.6.1 Oscillation Circuit with Ceramic Resonator

An oscillation circuit can be formed by connecting

a ceramic resonator between the XIN and XOUT pins.

Figure 2.6.1 shows an oscillation circuit example

with a ceramic resonator.

Note: Set oscillation circuit parameters, such as Rd,

CIN, and COUT, to the values recommended

by the manufacturer of the resonator.

2.6.2 External Clock Input to XIN

An external clock input to the XIN pin can be supplied

to the built-in clock generator.

Figure 2.6.2 shows the external clock circuit example.

Notes 1: Leave the XOUT pin open when an external

clock is input to the XIN pin.

2: Use a 50% duty cycle pulse signal as the

external clock input to the XIN pin.
