Both devices are selected to decode each command instruction and address when the CS# signal, shared by both devices, goes low. One FS512S device is modified to respond to commands that have an address selecting the lower 512 Mbits of the total 1 Gbit (128 Mbyte) address space. The other FS512S device is modified to respond to commands with addresses selecting the upper 512 Mbits of the address space. Some commands, without an address, are executed only by the lower address FS512S; some are executed by both devices in parallel. Both the lower and upper address FS512S devices must be configured, by writing to the various status and configuration registers in each device, to define the overall sector map and behavior of both devices for the entire 1 Gbit space selected by the single CS# for the DDP. However, several of the legacy SPI commands for register reading, writing or other operations do not have an explicit address in the command. For this reason, several of the legacy SPI commands are not supported by the FS01GS and alternate commands that include an address must be used to route the command to the lower or upper FS512S. The following commands are not supported in the FS01GS: WRR (01h) RDCR (35h) RDSR1 (05h) RDSR2 (07h) PNVDLR (43h) ASPP (2Fh) PASSP (E8h) PPBE (E4h) EPS (B0h) EPR (30h) The RDAR (65h) and WRAR (71h) commands must be used for reading and writing the registers so that the command address directs the operation to the lower or upper FS512S device in the DDP. New commands with a 4 byte address are added for Bulk Erase Addressed (BEA, FEh) and PPB Erase Addressed (PPBEA, EAh) to direct the operation to the lower or upper FS512S device. A complete discussion of FS01GS behavior and software modifications is provided in Section 12.4 FS01GS Behavior and Software Modifications on page 134 Command Name Function Instruction (Hex) READ Read 03 FAST_READ Read Fast 0B DIOR Dual I/O Read BB QIOR Quad I/O Read EB DDRQIOR DDR Quad I/O Read) ED PP Page Program 02 P4E Parameter 4 KB Erase 20 SE Erase 256 KB D8 RDAR Read Any Register 65 WRAR Write Any Register 71 EES Evaluate Erase Status D0 OTPP OTP Program 42 OTPR OTP Read 4B ECCRD ECC Status Read 19 DYBRD DYB Read FA DYBWR DYBWR FB PPBRD PPB Read FC PPBP PPB Program FD |
