2.20 Loopback
To enable the diagnostic loopback mode, set the LPBK bit in “Register
10–Configuration 4‚" Section 4.3.11. When the loopback mode is
enabled, the transmit data input to the transmit system interface and
output from the 8B10B encoder is internally looped back into the receive
8B10B decoder and is available to be read from the receive system
interface.
2.21 Test Modes
The TEST pin is reserved for factory test, and must be tied LOW for
normal operation.
Asserting the TAP pin HIGH, sets all inputs and outputs in the
high-impedance state. This pin is intended for controller and board
diagnostic testing.
